Dr. LaJaye Britt is an International Musician, Minister, Producer Author and Man of Faith who creatively Ministers the Gospel of Jesus Christ through his gift of music and more. He has Produced several projects and composed songs that inspire and reach hearts. He is a Husband and a Father with a Fire for Christ. 1.What Inspires your work of art and when did you start?

I’m most Inspired by love. I’ve always had a heart for people making them smile, laugh even get through the moments that’s the hardest time in life for them. Many people experience problems, proclivities, devastations and depressions. I love bridging that gap between pain and power. I also love celebrating the wins before most even know it happened prophetically. That’s what separates  me from being an Entertainer to a Professional Artistry of my craft and Gift. I’ve been doing what I do 40 plus years now. And hold 4 doctorate degrees. One being Sience of Music & Artist.

2.What was your most favorite performance?

Over the years I’ve had so many great performances and memories it’s hard to answer but If I really had to choose I would have to say!! Show time at the World Famous Apollo Theatre in Harlem, NY. And getting booed lol why because it didn’t break me it made me who I am today. To have the courage to stand on one of the toughest stages on the East Coast in front of one of the most deadliest crowds took courage and if you weren’t quite ready you were about to find out fast. And it wasn’t just about your voice it was everything presentation, the right song, your vibe, and confidence even what you wore everything mattered as an Artist. But in the end it was a Win for me. Let’s just say that!! 

3.Who are your greatest Influences?

Of Course besides God and my Kids and Wife! It’s always some of the people I work the closest with. Producer Whey “Da Ruler” Cooler of the Group Pretty Poison very Famous produced most all my records since the late 80s My Brother Tony Terry who helps keep your Vocals on its Game!! Tony will tell anyone don’t quit your day job!! And The Legendary Lenny Williams it was definitely intimidating not only sing along side him but Producing The Record he’s on with you yeah!! lol. And there’s others like the God Father of Gospel Pastor John P. Lee but I’ll leave that there…

4.What is your "Why" (What is the passion behind your art?)

My Why is because I know I was called to this. It’s an extension of my Ministry so I feel I don’t have the right to just stop my steps were ordered. And it stop being a hobby when I was a teenager I’ve been a Professional Artist all my life. The Passion for Me is seeing others lives touched by my work my music my lyrics. I don’t right trendy music or songs I write ministry music with longevity, a seed of deliverance the way I would write a Sermon is the same formula that I use to create or write a song. It’s a story that make sense so it may take a while to hit but it will. So just like my sermons it may take a few minutes because everything I say may not be for everyone in the room but by the time I close somebody’s getting deliverance!! In the Words of Fantasia “I didn’t come for a longtime but a good time” 

5.Give one positive affirmation, scripture for encouragement you would give to a fan or listener?

The very last chapter and last scripture of the book of John 21:25And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen. I love this because it encourages me!! Many times you may never be recognized or written about or even noticed for your good deeds but God sees them there’s another chart on high another reporter in glory waiting to tell your story so stay humble stay strong and above all stay encouraged keep pushing forward God Sees your heart and work as long as it’s authentic and from the heart you will always be remembered and rewarded He will take care of you Amen.
