Tony D. is a multifaceted musician, producer, radio personality, and creative visionary known for blending smooth instrumental music, soulful bass lines, and inspirational artistry into a sound uniquely his own. With a passion for music that spans decades, Tony D. has built a reputation as both a skilled bassist and a respected voice in independent and gospel music promotion.
 

As the creator and longtime host of The New Artist Profile, now in its 23rd year on radio, Tony D. has helped spotlight emerging artists from around the world while continuing to develop his own signature musical style. His music is heavily influenced by R&B, gospel, jazz, soul, and inspirational grooves, creating a listening experience that is both relaxing and emotionally engaging.

Whether performing on stage, producing in the studio, or creating cinematic musical projects, Tony D. brings authenticity, creativity, and professionalism to every endeavor. Known for his smooth bass-driven sound and heartfelt musical storytelling, he continues to expand his artistic reach through new releases, collaborations, live performances, and media projects.

1. What inspires your work of art and when did you start?
I began playing bass guitar at the age of 10 after seeing one of my cousins perform on stage, and I was instantly hooked. My music is inspired by my love for legendary bass players such as Marcus Miller, Wayman Tisdale, and Reggie Parker, as well as incredible guitarists like Ronnie Jordan and Norman Brown. I desire to create music that sets an atmosphere and leaves a lasting impression on every listener.

2. What was your most favorite performance?
One of my favorite performances was in Columbia SC at a small intimate cafe. It was

 being able to connect with audiences through live music while watching people genuinely feel the emotion and groove of the music. There’s nothing like seeing listeners relax, smile, and become completely immersed in the moment through the sound of the bass and the overall vibe.

3. Who are your greatest influences?
My greatest musical influences include Marcus Miller, Wayman Tisdale, Reggie Parker, Ronnie Jordan, Norman Brown, and many other musicians who create music with soul, feeling, and excellence. Their ability to blend musicianship with emotion has greatly inspired my own musical journey.

4. What is your “Why” (What is the passion behind your art?)
My passion is creating music that speaks to people emotionally and spiritually. I want my music to bring peace, inspiration, relaxation, and good energy into the lives of listeners. Music has the power to heal, motivate, and create unforgettable moments, and I strive to make music that people can feel long after the song ends.

5. Give one positive affirmation or scripture for encouragement you would give to a fan or listener.
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” — Proverbs 3:5-6
